GTA 6 Release Delayed to May 2026

According to a social media post by Rockstar Games, Grand Theft Auto VI will be released on May 26, 2026. This is almost 5 months later than the previous release window of 2025 that was announced in the first trailer.

Due to Rockstar’s near-complete silence on the game since the first trailer, fans of the franchise were rightfully worried that this was going to happen. The silver lining to this news is that we now have an exact release date as opposed to a broad release window.

The delay was announced in an official post on Twitter / X.

We are very sorry that this is later than you expected. The interest and excitement surrounding a new Grand Theft Auto has been truly humbling for our entire team. We want to thank you for your support and your patience as we work to finish the game.
