Disney references Kingdom Hearts in new official 10-hour LoFi video

Yes, you read that right. Kingdom Hearts did indeed make an appearance in the most unexpected place.

Yesterday, the official Disney Youtube channel published a 10-hour “Lo-Fi” video titled “Study with Max Goof | LoFi Ambiance” featuring Goofy’s son Max listening to LoFi music while studying.

The video was released in connection with Disney’s 30-year anniversary celebration of “A Goofy Movie” which originally released in 1995. The video is part of an extensive promotional campaign for Disney’s new documentary “Not Just a Goof” available on Disney Plus in some regions.

As part of the campaign, Disney also released a 7-minute video featuring Bill Farmer, Goofy’s long-standing voice actor, and James Marsden, the voice of Max, as they talk about their involvement in the original movie.

In addition, Disney also released a “Chibi Tiny Tales” summary of the movie, as well as a trailer for the documentary itself, which we highly recommend checking out.

Kingdom Hearts Reference

Most notably though, is that the LoFi video, in addition to being an awesome reference in its own right, also features some visible references to the Kingdom Hearts series. Including a photo of Twilight Town from Kingdom Hearts 2, and two stickers of a Paopu fruit, and a Sea-Salt Ice Cream bar in Max’s room.

Notably, this is not the first time Disney has officially acknowledged Kingdom Hearts in their other properties. With one of the earliest examples being a scene in the DuckTales reboot referencing the classic Sea-Salt Ice Cream.
